The appointment is anticipated to begin July 1, 2024. Candidates must have earned a Ph D degree in urban studies, economic geography, political science, planning or a related field by the appointment date or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and teach and contribute to - the Master of Urban Innovation (MUI), which focuses on urban economic development, community capacity building, innovation management, local and regional governance, and the social sustainability of urban economies. Applicants must be comfortable with applied and experiential learning approaches in the classroom, including managing client-based capstone projects and have the ability to teach in two or more of the following areas: social sustainability of cities, urban and regional economic development, urban politics and governance, and urban sustainability. Preference will be given to candidates that have a record of community engagement, applied professional experience, and some teaching in a professional degree program. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at academic conferences, awards and.
