You will serve as a strategic partner to the General Counsel & Head of Governance (GC) and GovLegal leads, and will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a wide range of critical activities to accelerate the GovLegal team and GDM's mission. You represent the GC with key partners and leaders when needed. You build and leverage cross-functional relationships, acting as the 'connective tissue' between the GovLegal team and the broader org.If this sounds exciting to you, you just might be the person we are looking for!Key responsibilities:In this role you will: Partner with the GC and GovLegal leadership to define strategic priorities, objectives and key results; drive execution of complex initiatives; and create alignment with cross-functional teams. Help develop and drive overall GovLegal strategy and ensure effective reporting and efficiency. Drive regular planning processes and help deliver fast-paced execution across GovLegal teams. Drive key operational projects and processes and partner strategically with GovLegal and GDM leadership, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to shape priorities and improve operations. Perform analyses and provide recommendations to facilitate effective, risk-calibrated decision making. Interface with key Google teams and stakeholders to enhance and accelerate cross-company collaboration and coordination on key priorities.About YouIn order to set you up for success in this role at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience: Extensive experience in legal, government/public policy, or other highly strategic, analytical and operational roles relevant to AI & technology. Strong executive communication skills - able to synthesize complex details into accessible and precise insights. You have a demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional projects and establish credibility with internal and external executive stakeholders, and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to tackle a variety of challenges. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to navigate prioritize effectively and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment. Comfort making decisions and turning strategy into executable plans and actions. A strong orientation towards outcomes, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. A proven ability to work and build relationships with a wide range of people, and influence cross-functionally without direct authority. Experience in diagnosing pain points for teams, moving them to good, and going the extra mile to ensure they are great. A passion about the opportunities of AI and addressing its risks. - You are highly motivated and combine strategic thinking and careful planning & organization. You bring analytical rigor, a sharp focus on both strategy development and operational implementation, and a highly collaborative and empathetic interpersonal style. -The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $246,000 - $370,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
