The Medical Director serves as a member of the Senior Management Team. This individual organizes prepares and implements policies related to Clinical matters, and participates and contributes to the company wide strategic initiatives. He/she participates in the planning, development and coordination of all organizational ventures. The Medical Director works in concert with the Director of Clinical Services to ensure that cooperatively, the MD/NP Teams and Nursing Teams provide the highest standards of care for all participants. Essential Functions: 1. Organizes, prepares, and implements policies, and establishes goals as directed.2. Maintains and communicates all operating policies and procedures to all subordinates on an on-going basis.3. Provides strong leadership for subordinates and resolves all staff issues, problems, and concerns in a timely manner.4. Develops mutually agreeable performance goals for all direct reports. Provides coaching, counseling and direction as necessary. Reviews and evaluates staff at regular intervals.5. Completes all reports, personnel actions and other documents in a timely manner.6. Responsible for recruiting Primary Care Physicians and participates in recruiting Nurse Practitioners.7. Oversees the administration of patient care standards in all clinical areas.8. Takes responsibility for assuring the clinical program meets the needs of our enrollees.9. Ensures duties are accomplished in a fiscally responsible manner adhering to established budgetary constraints.10. Participates in the coordination, development and implementation of initiatives.11. Participates in establishing and managing clinical relationships with hospitals and community health organizations.12. Functions as Senior Medical Officer in all research activities.13. Ensures all interactions with participants are conducted in a manner that adheres to the highest standards of care for all participants.14. Ability to pass a fit test. Position requires mask where seal is critical. Incumbent is required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator. Additional Responsibilities: Participates in National PACE Conferences, as requested. Participates in Quality Improvement projects and assessments, as needed. Participates in committees, as required, and communicates relative information, as necessary. Completes the required annual Health Stream trainings in a timely manner. Adheres to all policies and procedures and supports the Primary Vision Statement. Adheres to the confidentiality policy, including HIPAA guidelines pertaining to the release of participant information. Flexible to perform other related jobs, as is reasonable. Essential Job Requirements: EDUCATION / LICENSURES / CERTIFICATIONS 1. Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.2. Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine, preferred.3. Current License to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.4. Current Massachusetts and DEA Prescription Privileges.5. Maintains appropriate hospital and long term care facility credentials and privileges.6. MPA, Master's in Health Care Administration, of Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) training desirable.7. Current CPR Certification. EXPERIENCE 1. Experience in medical administration, particularly evaluation and supervision of MD's and other clinical staff.2. Experience in Quality Assurance, Utilization Review, and Continuous Quality Improvement.3. Experience with and commitment to working with Nurse Practitioners (NP's).4. Experience in a community health setting required.5. At least three (3) years experience working with the geriatric population.6. Covid vaccine required. REQUIRED SKILLS 1. Ability to lead independently and to be able to work well with others.3. Ability to work within a team concept and to be considerate of co-workers and colleagues. PREFERRED SKILLS 1. Ability to pay attention to detail, to be a self-starter, and to complete tasks on time.2. Ability to be able to quickly recognize situations/problems before they become acute, and to be able to implement effective solutions and understand consequences.
