The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bodily injury defense, construction, and other insurance defense matters, with a minimum of 7+ years of experience. They must be highly motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a legal team, and dedicated to meeting clients' unique needs.Duties:Handle insurance defense matters, focusing on bodily injury defense, construction, and related areas.Manage civil cases through trial, including conducting depositions, attending oral arguments and hearings, negotiating settlements, and providing regular updates to clients.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings.Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to advocate for the firm's clients and achieve successful outcomes.Stay abreast of developments in insurance law and relevant practice areas to inform case strategy and decision-making.Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to efficiently and effectively manage caseloads and meet deadlines.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.An active license to practice law in Texas and additional licensure in other states is a plus.Minimum of 7+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on insurance defense.Strong litigation skills, including experience taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and trying cases in court.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.An active license to practice law in Texas and additional licensure in other states is a plus.Skills:Litigation: Demonstrated proficiency in handling civil cases through trial, including depositions, oral arguments, and hearings.Legal Research: Strong research skills and the ability to analyze and apply legal principles to complex issues.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.Collaboration: Ability to work well independently and as part of a legal team, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support staff.Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage caseloads efficiently while meeting deadlines.Negotiation: Experience negotiating settlements and resolving disputes in insurance defense matters.Benefits:401(k)Dental InsuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insurance
